This podcast is very enjoyable. The character work is well-thought out, the scenarios are well run, and the handler is not afraid of making the players deal with serious consequences.I have two complaints - one, I think the show could use more audio polish. Better microphones would help, but at least better editing - often parts that are filled with internet issues or other stuff is left in.Two, the characters fight each other too much. As far as I can tell, about every other episode there is a moment where the players either do or threaten to pull guns or do violence to one another. At least once a scenario, there is some sort of serious interparty fight, often ending in death. I’m not saying this is all bad, but when the players pull their guns on each other more than they do on the unnatural, there might be some strange interparty dynamics at play

Chilling actual play of Impossible landscapes

I would describe this as a mix between X-files and True Detective meets The Shining. To be honest, the cast is quite simply amazing. It’s so good it’s practically scripted (but of course it isn’t). I’m about 4 hours into the Impossible Landscape arc. I’ve been listening to TTRPG’s for a couple years now and this is the best. I’m so excited to have found it.

I love listening to this podcast. The players create memorable, deeply human characters who are the heroes of their own stories. Vince, the Handler, expertly guides them through encounters with the bewildering horrors of Delta Green. The show exudes gravitas and tension, but there are moments lightheartedness, too, as the characters and players try to release some of the pressure.It's just a wonderful show. I wish episodes released more often.

This podcast seriously has it all for anyone who loves RPG actual plays or Delta Green. Incredibly well done by all members, comprehensive DMing, characters you will become attached to for better or worse and great introduction to the system for anyone interested. Can’t rave enough about this group. Can’t stop listening as they bring these scenarios to life.

I have been searching for a serious actual play podcast for Delta green for a while. I've heard funny playthroughs and they were okay. This group is just amazing I laughed, I cried (real tears), and I don't check the closet for monsters anymore because, if the Eldritch creatures want me... Well then I guess I'm going. A truly great way to see how to playthrough A Night at the Opera. I can't wait for more from them. Just keep doing what you're doing! Thank you!

I can't believe it took me so long to write this review.I started listening to Black Project Gaming because I was looking for more Delta Green actual plays. This campaign scratched exactly the right itch. The group stays in character pretty much the entire time; the background music sets the mood perfectly; it is tense and upsetting when it should be; the pacing isn't too fast or too slow; and Vince, the Handler, knows the setting and the scenarios quite well. You don't get all of the "um"s or page-flipping sounds that are so common in other APs. As recommended by the rulebooks, the dice fall where they may, often to unfortunate results. You can hear Vince rooting for the Agents, but when things don't go their way, they all have to suffer the consequences. I'm always excited for the next episode to come out. Especially impressive considering it's done remotely, rather than everyone being around the same table.But it gets better! Once I made it through all the Delta Green episodes, I started listening to the other content. I shouldn't have been surprised, but everything else is excellent as well! The main D&D campaign, run by Doug, has a different tone from Delta Green, as you'd expect, but is very fun to listen to. Not a lot of dice rolling, which I think is great. It's hard to make D&D fun to listen to because it's so heavy on dice rolling, but this group is big on social interactions and exploration and not as focused on combat. Hard to do in D&D, but they pull it off. And now there's a horror-themed 1980s-based D&D campaign (Barovia, CA), also run expertly by a different DM (Jack), and is creepy, funny, and intriguing, which is very hard to pull off.And of course the players are all outstanding. They are respectful to one another and their characters work together well, but they are willing to tread into character-vs-character conflict if it fits the story and their characters' personalities. A risky move in some groups, but it pays off here. Also great that the players aren't all dudes. Yay for more diversity!So, kudos to the whole group for taking the time to make this podcast. It's great that this group of people found each other and have meshed so well to create such fun and compelling stories for the rest of us to hear. Top notch all around. My first experience with BPG was listening to Vince run the crew through “Music from a Darkened Room”. The players all did such an amazing job playing their characters and Vince manages to be both informative and creepy as the handler. The BPG podcast has been a huge inspiration for my Delta Green games. I always look forward to their next episode.

Great stuff, audio quality between players could improve quite a bit (mics cutting off during dialogue/hearing sound repeated through speakers) Vince the handler does really do an incredible job and because of that and his background in law enforcement all these talks with characters flows so naturally because he in fact knows what he is talking about and what would be reasonable for the characters to do and not do (warrants and such) I really loved the part where a character that needed to be interacted with played the “I know my rights!” Angle and wanting the player to be stonewalled by dealing with the guy was really interesting! Disregarding some of the audio that could be improved I would definitely recommend listening! The story is great! Also Victor from San Diego is a very interesting and compelling character!

This is a review of their incredible series being told through the Delta Green roleplaying system. For those who haven't been read-in, Delta Green is a tabletop role playing system that is inspired by the Eldritch Mythos and the X-Files. The Players assume the roles of "civilian by day, secret agent when called for." And nothing ever good comes from those calls.Each episode features great roleplaying and professional production touches. The recap at the top of each episode helps keep the listener up to speed, the editing is brisk, the background music and incidental sound effects help set the mood.And that mood is dread, a crawling terror.

If you’re looking for a DG actual play podcast with high production value, a knowledgeable GM, sinister themes, and compelling characters - look no further. BPG is far and away the best DG audio experience I’ve had outside of Caleb Stokes’ God’s Teeth campaign on RPPR. The players take the game seriously and put in work to do their best. The ambience and audio cues add to the experience, and the scenarios run thus far have been top notch. Vince is exceptional as the GM and really makes the show. It’s clear from his scene-setting and NPC-Play that he has a strong knowledge of some of the professional subject matter. This makes up for some minor instances of the players not quite knowing how to “law-enforcement” or proceed forward in the game with tradecraft. Do yourself a favor - put the kids to bed, turn down the lights, make some coffee, grab your headphones and give this one a shot.

You all are tremendous. Vince you are the man. Love the DG campaign and all the characters.

This is a solid and compelling actual play podcast that gets the Delta Green mood right and even finds a strange sense of deadpan humor. The players are seasoned and natural while the gm is smart, subtle and confident. (Bonus points for good mix of pc genders) The whole experience is exciting without being extroverted or cloying.
